Warning light said clutch overheating stop car. Garage diagnosed it as mechatronics unit failure. The cost of the part alone is over £1000. The part took about 3 weeks to arrive from Germany. Audi would give no assistance whatsoever despite this being a common problem. I asked for the old part and was given it but they had to check it was the right one as they had done a few of these units recently. Didn't expect a brand like Audi to fail so spectacularly at this mileage. Will not be buying another and will be looking to get rid of this before I get another expensive bill.

Audi of America president Scott Keogh announced the company is taking into consideration offering a manual gearbox for the US-spec S3.

Audi of America president Scott Keogh announced the company is taking into consideration offering a manual gearbox for the US-spec S3.

Speaking at the 30th anniversary of Audi Club of North America, Scott Keogh said they are seriously considering a manual gearbox for the S3. Although a decision has not been taken yet, it's likely the six-speed manual transmission from the European model will be offered in the US-spec version.

Keogh also hinted the highly anticipated RS3 will take the shape of a sedan, as previewed by the A3 clubsport quattro concept from this year's Wörthersee show. So far prototypes of the RS3 have been spotted with the five-door Sportback body style so Audi could decide to offer the model in two flavors. We already know it will be powered by the familiar five-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine which will develop around 360 bhp (268 kW) but a 400 bhp (298 kW) derivative is also being analyzed.

Interestingly, Keogh also expressed his desire to see the RS6 Avant in United States but did admit it’s unlikely to happen. However, Audi of America could be planning to expand the A6 lineup by adding the allroad quattro as two prototypes have been spotted testing on U.S. soil.
