Dec 26, 2011  Hello everyone. Manual trans Tundra's I'm finding are extremely rare. I have several questions: Was the manual even available behind the 4.7 V8? Was the manual available in the 4 door crew cabs? So far I have found a few trucks with the 3.4L V6 and the 5speed. Looking ideally for a 4.0/4.7 truck 4x4 with the 6 speed manual. Thanks for your help.

Sep 24, 2010  Do they make a 6 speed manual transmission like they did in the 1st gen Tundra's? Or does anyone know of a manual transmission that would hook up the the 5.7L iForce, i personally think that a transmission swap would be an interesting and worthwhile project. Transmission issues for the Tundra seem to have begun in earnest with the 2007, second generation of the Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The earlier models were plagued with a recall on the brake and rotor system and a ball-joint suspension issue, but they didn't have consistent problems with the transmission design as later models did. Jan 08, 2019  This post is dedicated to information on the R-A60 manual transmission. All you guys with the 6 speed should read through some of this stuff. By far, this is one of the largest flaws in the designing of the clutch. Aluminum case, end loaded with six main bearings (5 speed), a 7 bolt front bearing retainer and a 6 bolt shifter. 1993 model years and later have synchronized reverse. Truck had wheel bearing noise and a leaking front axle. Truck sees considerable amount of off-road and back road use. Local, independent shop replaced front wheel bearings and.. replaced the passenger side front axle and did an alignment. A week later. Rear axle seal started to leak. I checked rear axle bearings and determined they were worn out with excessive play. Shop removed both rear axles, replaced bearing and seals.

Axles started leaking again for the third time after initial seal replacement. Shop determined the axles were warped and needed to be replaced. Replaced axles. Within a day of the repair, one of the rear brakes locked up due to incorrect adjustment from axle work. Returned truck to shop and the shop replaced rear brakes. Shop did not bleed brakes and there was almost no pedal. Limped the truck home and bled the brakes at home removing a bunch of air.

Tranny was still slipping and, in cold weather, was very difficult to get into gear. Apparently the dealer has the special tool to fill the tranny appropraitely and I was down 2 quarts. Additionally, they lubed the linkage and its working. Tranny was still slipping and, in cold weather, was very difficult to get into gear. 111000 miError code p0986 shift solenoid 'E' Control circuit High. Light came on but was driving fine. Everywhere I read pointed to the connector at transmission. I looked at it and it seemed ok not corroded like others reported. I drove it and it shifted like crap the connector was a cause. I took apart again cleaned some put dielectric greese in and is has been working great and no error codes.
